Heaven Is An Over Water Bungalow
Who's up for a quick game of Vacation Truth or Dare? You? Great. Truth: The Maldives are the most idyllic place on earth. True.
So, we dare you to find a hotel that's closer to heaven than Coco Palm in Dhuni Kolhu, Maldives.
First, there’s the most obvious sign of paradise—the overwater bungalow. Coco Palm has 14 of them, and they’ve been built into the shape of a leaf, outstretched over water so blue it looks like God’s tears. You can spend your entire vacation here, or just spring for a night in a bunglaow, to experience the indulgence of your own plunge pool, a jacuzzi and direct access to the lagoon (i.e. just jump). Throw in a champagne breakfast if you fancy.
The rest of the rooms on the resort are no slouches either, with thatched-roof villas on the ocean or sunset side, boasting amenities like fluffy king-sized beds, open-air garden bathrooms, private fresh water plunge pools and terraces.
So what does one do in paradise? The friendly staff at Coco Palm can hook you up with dinner under the stars, dolphin watching, sunset fishing, snorkeling or a private picnic on desert island.
You can even spend a night on a deserted Maldivian island. It starts with a beach BBQ, followed by a stroll to your rustic beach hut (tricked out with some creature comforts, of course). In the morning, the staff serves breakfast on the beach before you head back to the resort. We dare you to try and beat that.
