Ciao, Amore

Lucky for you, “Ciao” means hello and goodbye in Italian, because once you get behind the wheel of the super ridiculously fast Pagani Huayra ($1.4 million), your friends will barely have time to say hello before you’re clean out of sight. From specialist manufacturer in Italy (where else?), Pagani offers up its latest drool-worthy creation, the 700 horsepower, 12-cylinder, twin-turbocharged, high performance Huarya. Its motor was specially developed for Pagani by Mercedes-Benz AMG, and all of its power is sent to the rear wheels, via an X-trac seven-speed sequential transmission that’s also lower on emissions than Pagani’s previous model, the Zonda. This bella macchina has gull-wing doors, a high-end leather interior, and hits a max speed of 235mph, going 0-62 in just 3.2 seconds. Buon viaggio!

A New Classic

If you missed the RM Auction in March, you’re no doubt smarting from losing out on the limited edition 340 Mexico Berlineta from 1952. The car gods are smiling upon you though, because the miracle workers at GWA Tuning have rebuilt the classic from the ground up. Based on a 456 platform, the Ferrari 340 Competizone ($TBA) features a 470-horsepower 5.4-liter V12 and a six-speed manual transmission with upgraded aerodynamics, suspension and brakes as well as fresh aluminum bodywork and a modernized interior. To date they’ve only produced one model, but we’re sure a quick email from you might render another copy.

An Oldie But A Goodie

You, Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood and James Coburn are members of the same tribe. You’re all leading men and car aficionados. Which is why you’ll appreciate the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder that the Magnificent Seven star Coburn owned for more than two decades. The classic work of automotive art was a legend then and continues to be fifty years later. It sold recently for $10.9 million, setting a new world record for the highest price ever paid for an automobile at auction. Had you been there we’re sure it would’ve gone for much more.

If you’ve got a few mil’ burning a whole in your pocket (per usual) we’ve got the car for you. The Koenigsegg Agera R, like your leggy girlfriend, hails from Sweden and means, “to act,” and that’s putting it lightly. It boasts 1,115 horsepower, 885 pound-feet of torque from a 5.0L twin-turbo V8, and has broken no less than six world speed records. The Swedish supercar can go from 0-100 in less than three seconds. It’s fast. Now that’s a word that even Annika understands.

Faster Than A Tipsy Prom Date

As you proved with Gina Abernathy back in senior year, you’ve always been attracted to whatever’s the “fastest.” Well get ready to start your engine, gentleman, because the new SSC Ultimate Aero II ($1 million)is about to become the fastest production car on the road. From Shelby Supercars, this whip will reach a top speed of 440km/h–that’s 273mph, and is powered by a 6.8-litre four-cam, twin-turbo engine, delivering no less than 1,350hp and redlining at around 9,000 rpm. Are you ready for the coolest part? It also includes active air brakes, just like planes have, that will be used to reduce speed when traveling at very high mph. It comes in at close to a million dollars, but at least you don’t have to pry it with Peppermint Schnapps before you get anywhere.
