As your father always told you, nothing is sexier than a woman with a sense of humor. Well, maybe we should edit that to nothing is sexier than a Minx with a sense of humor. Case in point, Minx: Ashley Haas, a self-proclaimed “Model by day…goofball by night.” And if you check out her Instagram, you’ll certainly catch a glimpse of both aspects of Ms. Haas. This five-foot-ten, blue-eyed beauty jets from New York to London to Miami and everywhere in between pursuing her modeling career. If that sounds like a lot to keep up with, fear not, Ashley documents most of it on her Instagram for all of us to ogle at.
You may have caught her repp’ing street wear during Art Basel in “Harpers Bazaar” or on the arm of rumored beau, Matt Harvey, the Mets pitcher, or modeling for Miami Swim week with friend and fellow Minx Joy Corrigan. In her downtime, you can catch the Philadelphia native at a football game supporting her home team, grabbing dinner in New York with Melanie Iglesias, designing and sewing clothes all by herself, or Instagramming exclusive bikini shots and funny memes. Sexy, sexy, sexy.
Feeling uninspired lately? Maybe you need a new muse. We nominate Minx: Brittani Bader. The New York-based model is not only beautiful to behold, her Instagram posts are filled with positivity and great energy. The brunette beauty was born in San Diego but raised in the South, where she got into modeling at the young age of 9. But when she was just 13, disaster struck and she and her family had to evacuate to escape Hurricane Katrina.
After bouncing around the country for a few years, Brittani returned to New Orleans, and walked in New Orleans Fashion Week, where she was noticed by a model house. They asked her to move to NYC with just $300 to her name. She took a chance and through years of hard work and determination, it paid off, big time. Recently, she was signed by One Management and her modeling career is really heating up, with her focus on lingerie and swimwear. Forever optimistic and grateful, Brittani’s main goal is just to be happy. She says, “I came from nothing. I didn’t have every little thing, and everything that happened in my life is something I’ve done on my own..Life is short, sweet, and you have to enjoy it as much as you can.” How refreshing.
Close your eyes for a second. Now picture what Miss California might look like. Open them and check out the picture above this post (like you haven’t already—and by the way, it’s impressive that you can read through your eyelids). Meet Minx: Mabelynn Capeluj, the brunette version of exactly what Miss California should look like. Mabelynn hails from sunny San Diego, and she’s currently pursuing a broadcast journalism degree at Chapman University, which she’s hoping will lead to a job at E! News.
Off to a pretty good start, the 5’8” bombshell is already a working model, having done campaigns for Miami Beach and Sketchers. She was also featured as a “Sports Illustrated” Lovely Lady of the Day, which can never hurt your career. When Miss Capeluj isn’t in front of the camera, you’ll probably find her at the beach with friends, watching soccer with her family (which includes six younger brothers, so watch your step) or doing something active like jet skiing or rock climbing. The multi-lingual beauty (she also speaks Spanish) is also the spokesperson for the National Psoriasis Foundation. Proud of the strong work ethic her parents instilled in her, Mabelynn also takes pride in the fact that she’s achieved success all on her own merit. Good on you, Mabelynn and keep on keepin’ on.
You know what makes people happy? Instagram. You know what brings people even more joy? When Minx: Joy Corrigan posts things on Instagram—namely, selfies. Of herself. Just being Joy. Posing and stuff. You see, Joy is a model, so that’s why almost a quarter of a million people follow her on Instagram. The 21-year-old beauty grew up on a small farm in North Carolina, but her international modeling career has taken her to all corners of the world, and she’s lived everywhere from Milan to Cape Town to New York and currently, Miami.
Joy has walked the runway for big time designers like Roberto Cavalli and Vivian Westwood, and appeared in pubs like “Maxim” and “GQ.” Joy was also part of the “Look Better Naked” campaign for Equinox—quite fitting as she’s a workout fanatic and has her black belt in Tang So Doo. Back in 2014, Joy was one of the many victims of the Apple iCloud hack that leaked nude photos of about 100 celebrities, like Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton. When Joy isn’t modeling, you can find her helping out with charities like the American Cancer Society against Breast Cancer, lounging around the house in a t-shirt and no makeup (her favorite look), drinking organic wine and tucking into her favorite movies like “Anchorman” and “Zoolander.” Maybe that’s where she learned to be really, really, ridiculously good-looking.
If you're one of Minx: Kate Compton's 162,000 followers on Instagram, were about to tell you what you already know: that Minx Kate Compton is pretty much a master at sexy selfies. The rest of you, well, perhaps you'll be one of her followers after getting to know Kate a little more intimately. If you haven't guessed by now, Miss Compton has been dipping her toe in modeling industry for a while now, starting when she was just 16.
A native of Los Angeles, the blonde bombshell is Lebanese, Spanish and Native American, which has proven to be quite the visually stunning combination. Should you try to win Kate’s heart, here are a few snippets of trivia about her you might find useful: she loves funny, confident guys, hates liars, and she doesn’t mind if you wear jewelry, as long as you let her borrow it. Finally, she hates men with shaved body hair—so make sure that Hyperglide Razor never goes south of your Adam’s Apple.
Move over, Kristi Yamaguchi. And Bella Hadid. And…Leonardo Fibonacci? That’s right. Minx: Elizabeth Pipko is a legitimate figure skating, modeling, mathematician. Probably the first in history, if we had to wager a guess. She also happens to model occasionally, write poetry (she published a book two years ago) and she’s also really good at gathering Instagram followers, with a fan base of about 55,000 and counting. So let’s get to know this number-crunching, figure skating model. The 19 year-old is currently taking a break from Harvard, where she majors in religious studies and minors in math, to train for the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.
A competitive skater for the past decade, Elizabeth has her eye set on competing in the Olympics, though she’s spent the last two years overcoming a serious ankle injury. The dedicated Miss Pipko gets up at 4:30 in the morning to train, skating six days a week for five hours a day. When she’s not dreaming of gold medals, Elizabeth is in front of cameras modeling, and mastering the art of Instagram. She actually credits Kim Kardashian with teaching her that social media is a skill that can help her career, though she is mindful of the fact that one day her husband and kids will be able to see everything she’s ever posted. In her quest to walk the fine line between that thought and the notion of YOLO, Elizabeth borrows wisdom from the most famous sex symbol of all—Marilyn Monroe. A quote Miss Pipko recently reposted on Instagram sums it up quite nicely: “A wise girl knows her limits, a smart girl knows that she has none.”
If there’s anything that we can learn from Izabel, Adriana, and Lisalla it’s that when it comes to modeling, Brazilians do it better. Still not convinced? Meet Minx: Isabeli Fontana, a luscious Brazilian beauty who’s made waves both on and off the runway. Miss Fontana began modeling at the tender age of 13 after making it to the final round of the Elite Model Look and jetted off to Milan to begin her career of being really, really, ridiculously good looking and getting really, really, ridiculously high pay checks for it.
At just 16 Isabeli became the youngest model to be featured in the Victoria’s Secret lingerie catalogue, which sparked some controversy over her posing in her skimpies while still underage. However, proving that there’s no such thing as bad publicity, Fontana’s career skyrocketed to post Angel-gate fame. Since then Isabeli has modeled for Versace, Ralph Lauren, and Valentino to name a few. She’s even landed herself as Miss October in the coveted Pirelli calendar, has held the title of Vogue’s Model of The Moment. All of this success helped young Isabeli earn herself a spot on the “Forbes” highest earning models list too. If you’re looking to get your fill of Miss Fontana you can catch her as the face of L’Oreal Paris or showing off her skimpies yet again for La Perla Lingerie. Amen.
So we know that teen drama mystery-thrillers probably aren’t your first choice of programming, but if you’ve ever caught an episode of “Pretty Little Liars” starring Minx: Shay Mitchell, you know they aren’t completely without merit, if not for casting alone (and some steamy makeout sessions). Though the show gave Shay her big, breakout role, the beautiful Canadian actress has been a performer from a very early age. A native of Toronto, Shay began dance lessons at the young age of five, and by the time she was eleven, she was signed by an international modeling agency in Vancouver. After high school, the Filipino beauty booked modeling jobs all over the world, from Bangkok to Hong Kong to Barcelona. Determined to morph her modeling career into an acting career, Shay went back to Toronto to study acting. Good move. She booked a role in “Degrassi: The Next Generation” (how Canadian is that?), a rap video for Sean Paul, and in 2009, her role as Emily Fields in “Pretty Little Liars.”
These days, Mitchell, who calls her fans "Mitchies," is still going strong with “Pretty Little Liars.” She’s also the face of Pantene, an ambassador for the non-profit Somaly Mam Foundation, which fights the global sex trade, and she writes a blog called Amore & Vita with her best friend, Michaela Blaney. Oh, and she and Michaela also wrote their first novel together, which is due out in October 2015. When Shay’s not acting, modeling, writing and just being awesome, you can probably find her leaning Spanish, watching one of her favorite shows (“Orange is the New Black” or “Entourage”) or feeding her pizza obsession. That’s right, Shay is a huge pizza lover. So, if you don’t have the Push For Pizza app on your phone already, you might want to get on that. You know, just in case.
We know what’s happening right now. You’re reading the words Minx: Bella Hadid and thinking, “Hey, wasn’t I just reading about/planning my proposal to another Hadid girl, Minx: Gigi Hadid? Could they possibly be related?” You are quite astute. Bella, 18, is indeed Guess model Gigi’s little sister, and together, they are giving the Jenners and Kardashians a run for their money as the new “It” girls of the fashion and modeling industry. Even beyond her sister, Bella’s gene pool is quite impressive—her mother is former model Yolanda Foster (and is currently on “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” which gave the girls public exposure), her father is real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and her stepdad is 16-time, Grammy-winning producer David Foster.
So there’s that. Family tree aside, Bella is making quite the name for herself in the modeling world these days, having inked a contract with IMG models back in August, and walking the runway with her older sister for Tom Ford’s fall/winter 2015 show. Bella—who seriously lives up to her name—recently became the face of Botkier's spring campaign, and just posed for a spread in the UK’s “Elle” magazine. A California native, Bella is an avid surfer and a nationally ranked equestrian, so if you happen to bump into her at a runway show one of these days, perhaps you should extend an invite to your ranch? Just a thought.
It was February 26, 2015. The first ever “Victoria’s Secret Swim Special” was on, in your living room and in 189 other lucky countries. Victoria’s Secret Angels were strutting around dancing to Maroon 5, talking about themselves and their careers, and giving us a behind-the-scenes peek at the photo shoot for the Victoria’s Secret swimsuit catalog. And then you saw her. Minx: Martha Hunt. Sandwiched between Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio—a blonde-haired, blue-eyed vision of perfection. Oh wait…is this your memory?
Maybe it’s ours…either way, we’d like to introduce Martha Hunt: model, angel, dream woman extraordinaire. After she was discovered in North Carolina by a photographer with an extremely fine eye, Martha was quickly on the fast track to New York, where she signed with IMG models and her modeling career took off. Martha walked her first runway at Paris Fashion Week in 2007 (not a shabby start), and has since dominated almost 200 runways for top-notch designers like Chanel, Stella McCartney, Jason Wu, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta and Versace. Off the runway, Martha has worked with Free People, and of course, with Victoria’s Secret—first appearing in their fashion show in 2012, and rocking out in the first Swim Special just a few weeks ago. We can’t wait to see what the future reveals for Miss Hunt.
Looking for a woman who not only brings home the bacon, but sizzles wherever she goes? Look no further. It’s Minx: Doutzen Kroes. Last year, this tall, blonde model/actress came in #2 on the 2014 “Forbes” top-earning model list, coming in just behind superstar Gisele. Not too shabby for a tomboy from Eastermar, a small town in the Friesland province of the Netherlands, who grew up dreaming to be a professional speed skater. Wisely, Doutzen realized she might be sort of ok at modeling, and pursued her dream in New York, where she would go on to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway for eight years, and earn her status as an “angel” in 2008. The kicker? When she got to the States, she’d never even heard of Vicky Sec.
This year, Ms. Kroes parted ways with the lingerie brand, but fret not, she was on a plane headed to Milan’s Fashion Week the following day, and she’s still got a nice, fat contract with L’Oreal, cementing her status as a model/baller for years to come. Besides gracing the covers of “Vogue” (she was on nine international “Vogue” covers in one year, actually) “Harper’s Bazaar,” and “W,” plus being the face of Gucci, Versace, Tiffany, Valentino and Calvin Klein, Doutzen starred in a Frisian documentary that chronicled a week in her life as a model. In 2011, she also starred in the first Dutch 3D movie ever made. Between that and taking acting classes in NYC, we have the distinct feeling we’ll be seeing more of Doutzen on the silver screen. God willing.
An immutable law of physics states that when Oprah Winfrey likes something, everyone else will like it—nay, LOVE it—too. So when Oprah spotted Minx: Jasmine Tookes strutting down the runway at a Ralph Lauren fashion show at Lincoln Center, and became so enamored with her buttery soft skin that she asked Tookes to, “rub your face against mine,” it was clear that Tookes would go on to be a superstar. And we gotta say, good call, Oprah. Stunningly beautiful, the 24-year old Jasmine Tookes is becoming a force to be reckoned with, one catwalk at a time. A native of Huntington Beach, California, Jasmine’s mother is a celebrity fashion stylist.
While accompanying her mother to a showroom appointment, Jasmine was discovered when she was just 15. After modeling stateside for the Gap and Ugg boots, Jasmine hit the international scene with a layout in “Vogue Italia” for the Spring 2011 DKNY campaign. Later that year, she would be named one of the top 10 new models by Models.com, and by 2012, Victoria’s Secret scooped her up as one of their eleven new models for their infamous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. You may also have caught Jasmine on highly coveted runways for Versace, Tom Ford, Prada and Calvin Klein. Damn you, Oprah, are you NEVER wrong?
We know what you’re thinking: “Oh, look, it’s another a Victoria’s Secret Angel from Brazil who also happened to pose for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. How predictable.” Yeah, well, we gotta tell you, a woman like Minx: Izabel Goulart is one of those things that just never gets old. The beautiful, 30 year old Izabel grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, though her ancestry is Italian (this just keeps getting better, doesn’t it?). She started her modeling career at just 14, despite being teased as a child and called “giraffe.”
By the time she was 17, those giraffe-like legs made her 5’9” frame perfect for the runway and the camera, landing her gigs with top-notch fashion houses like Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Balenciaga, Chanel, Stella McCartney and Dolce and Gabbana, just to name a few. In 2005, she became a VS Angel and walked her first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which she would go on to walk every year until 2013–not a bad run. Besides earning her wings, Izabel earned her place on the covers of magazines all over the world, from Marie Claire France to GQ Mexico to Vogue Brazil. Oh yeah, and of course, the 2011 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. It’s no wonder GQ Portugal named her “International Woman of the Year” in 2013. Outside of the fashion world, Izabel can be found dabbling in television acting, flirting with Conan O’Brien (seriously), doing charitable work for diabetic children in Brazil and Miami, and speaking fluently in English, French and Portuguese. Time to dust off that Rosetta Stone, boys.
Sure, minxes of the runway variety typically come in tall packages, like 5’10” Hannah Davis and Candice Swanepoel, but that’s the beauty of minxes—they can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Case in point, today’s Minx: Mikaela Hoover, who’s a petite 5' 1½". Adorable, we know. You may recognize Mikaela from her role in “Guardians of the Galaxy” or from her guest appearances on hit shows like “How I Met Your Mother,” “The League” or “Two and a Half Men.” And we’re sure that’s a face you wouldn’t soon forget. The part Spanish, part Persian, part Italian beauty started acting and dancing when she was just 2 years old.
Mikaela went on to become captain of her high school dance team and attend Loyola Marymount University’s theatre program before landing the very first movie role she auditioned for, in a film called “Frank.” Though Mikaela loves horror films, it’s the comic book movie crowd that’s really taken a shine to her, thanks in part to James Gunn, the writer/director of “Guardians of the Galaxy,” who also cast Mikaela in “Super,” a 2010 movie about a regular guy-turned-superhero, only without very heroic skills, and a series called “PG Porn” which is—you guessed it—about people who like porn without the sex. We’re hoping Gunn will reprise Mikaela’s role in the “Guardians” sequel, due out in 2017. Until then, we’re happy just looking at her photos.
Who needs a string bikini when you’ve got body paint? A philosophical question indeed. And one best answered by Minx: Samantha Hoopes, who appeared in the 2014 “Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition” in nothing but body paint. As Miss Hoopes proves, the answer is: no one. No one needs a bikini when you’ve got paint. Speaking of philosophy, in addition to satisfying burning questions posed by great thinkers all over the world, this sultry superstar model shares a life philosophy of her own, on her Instagram page, which reads, “Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it’d be worth it.”
A native of Doylestown, PA, Samantha’s efforts have indeed turned out to be worth it. After winning a model competition as a very young teen, Samantha was officially a signed model by the age of 14, and her career has been exploding ever since. Currently repped by Elite LA, Hoopes models for Guess as well as Beach Bunny Swimwear and Love Haus lingerie, developed by the Kardashian sisters. But her biggest push to stardom had to be earning a spot as a “Sports Illustrated” Rookie, which was serendipitously announced on her birthday in February…and happens to beg another philosophical query: who needs a swimsuit when you’ve got a birthday suit? Interesting…
Whether she’s posing on a beach in Italy, or next to a horse, or in a dark corner wearing nothing but thigh-highs, we appreciate Minx: Nicole Trunfio’s exceptional modeling skills. Honestly. They’re fantastic. And we’re not the only ones in the world who think so. In fact, the entire world seems to be quite taken with this Italian-Australian beauty. Nicole was first discovered by a modeling agent when she was visiting her sister in Perth, Western Australia, at the age of just 15. Very shortly after, Nicole went on to win “Search For A Supermodel” in Australia in 2002, then take second place in the international version of the show the following year, and then BAM—suddenly Nicole was the proud owner of Ford modeling contract in New York.
Not too shabby for a girl from a small town in Australia. Pretty soon, Nicole found herself appearing in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld, and Guess, and strutting down the runway for the likes of Chanel, Versace, Valentino and Roberto Cavalli. Next came the covers of “Vogue” Australia (twice) and “Harper’s Bazaar” Singapore. But it’s not all about modeling for the raven-haired beauty. Nicole also dabbles with guitar, often holding jam sessions at her place, and being the front woman for electro-rock band Henry Blak. She’s also got a burgeoning career in jewelry design, with her own company, Trunfio Jewels, a line built around her signature piece, the Universe Bracelet. Oh, and now Nicole is getting into acting too, taking classes and starring in the Aussie movie “Two Fists, One Heart” where she plays an Italian temptress named Jessica. Now there’s some good casting.
Now that you’ve put in an offer to buy Dracula’s Castle in Transylvania, you should probably start making friends in that neck of the woods. Why not start with Ukranian model and Minx: Anna Andres. Miss Andres was recently crowned Miss Universe Ukraine 2014, and will be representing her home country in the Miss Universe pageant this fall. The 21-year-old model, who hails from Lviv, certainly does look stunning in her new sash and crown, but then again, she looks stunning all over her Instagram page, pretty much all the time.
In April, Anna graced the cover of the magazine L’Officiel Ukraine, which was blown up into a massive billboard set smack dab in the center of Kiev. When she’s not dominating the pages of magazines or nailing the swimsuit competition, Anna loves to frolic on beaches, pose with flowers and travel. So yeah, just plant a few flowers in your new castle, maybe throw some sand down, and you should be golden. Here’s to the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Your friends are starting to think it’s a little bit suspicious that you keep asking for birthday gifts that will charge your iPhone’s battery, like the Mophie Powerstation XL or Space Pack. But then, you show them Minx: Sarah Stage’s Instagram stream and suddenly, yeah, a dead phone every three hours totally makes total sense. This American beauty hails from Southern California (shocker), and is currently a model, a profession she’s had since she went to an open call at Wilhelmina modeling agency and was immediately signed.
Since then, Sarah put her desire to be a nurse on temporary hold, and has starred in ads for Hustler Lingerie, Rockstar Energy Drink, Sketchers, a TV spot for Jack in the Box, plus the music videos for “These Are the Days” and the Outkast hit “Roses.” But we like to look at the 5’8” knockout in her favorite environment: Instagram. Oh, there she is wearing a yellow bandage dress walking through a market. Now Sarah’s at the gun range, making safety goggles and ear protectors look good! There she is in shorty shorts and sexy Louboutins. Oh sweet Lord, now she’s in the pool. She’s in the poooooool! You’re going to need another charger.
