The Minx In Body Paint
Who needs a string bikini when you’ve got body paint? A philosophical question indeed. And one best answered by Minx: Samantha Hoopes, who appeared in the 2014 “Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition” in nothing but body paint. As Miss Hoopes proves, the answer is: no one. No one needs a bikini when you’ve got paint. Speaking of philosophy, in addition to satisfying burning questions posed by great thinkers all over the world, this sultry superstar model shares a life philosophy of her own, on her Instagram page, which reads, “Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it’d be worth it.” A native of Doylestown, PA, Samantha’s efforts have indeed turned out to be worth it. After winning a model competition as a very young teen, Samantha was officially a signed model by the age of 14, and her career has been exploding ever since. Currently repped by Elite LA, Hoopes models for Guess as well as Beach Bunny Swimwear and Love Haus lingerie, developed by the Kardashian sisters. But her biggest push to stardom had to be earning a spot as a “Sports Illustrated” Rookie, which was serendipitously announced on her birthday in February…and happens to beg another philosophical query: who needs a swimsuit when you’ve got a birthday suit? Interesting…
The Minx To Watch For
Whether she’s posing on a beach in Italy, or next to a horse, or in a dark corner wearing nothing but thigh-highs, we appreciate Minx: Nicole Trunfio’s exceptional modeling skills. Honestly. They’re fantastic. And we’re not the only ones in the world who think so. In fact, the entire world seems to be quite taken with this Italian-Australian beauty. Nicole was first discovered by a modeling agent when she was visiting her sister in Perth, Western Australia, at the age of just 15. Very shortly after, Nicole went on to win “Search For A Supermodel” in Australia in 2002, then take second place in the international version of the show the following year, and then BAM—suddenly Nicole was the proud owner of Ford modeling contract in New York. Not too shabby for a girl from a small town in Australia.
Pretty soon, Nicole found herself appearing in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld, and Guess, and strutting down the runway for the likes of Chanel, Versace, Valentino and Roberto Cavalli. Next came the covers of “Vogue” Australia (twice) and “Harper’s Bazaar” Singapore. But it’s not all about modeling for the raven-haired beauty. Nicole also dabbles with guitar, often holding jam sessions at her place, and being the front woman for electro-rock band Henry Blak. She’s also got a burgeoning career in jewelry design, with her own company, Trunfio Jewels, a line built around her signature piece, the Universe Bracelet. Oh, and now Nicole is getting into acting too, taking classes and starring in the Aussie movie “Two Fists, One Heart” where she plays an Italian temptress named Jessica. Now there’s some good casting.
The Miss Universe Minx
Now that you’ve put in an offer to buy Dracula’s Castle in Transylvania, you should probably start making friends in that neck of the woods. Why not start with Ukranian model and Minx: Anna Andres. Miss Andres was recently crowned Miss Universe Ukraine 2014, and will be representing her home country in the Miss Universe pageant this fall. The 21-year-old model, who hails from Lviv, certainly does look stunning in her new sash and crown, but then again, she looks stunning all over her Instagram page, pretty much all the time. In April, Anna graced the cover of the magazine L’Officiel Ukraine, which was blown up into a massive billboard set smack dab in the center of Kiev. When she’s not dominating the pages of magazines or nailing the swimsuit competition, Anna loves to frolic on beaches, pose with flowers and travel. So yeah, just plant a few flowers in your new castle, maybe throw some sand down, and you should be golden. Here’s to the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Your friends are starting to think it’s a little bit suspicious that you keep asking for birthday gifts that will charge your iPhone’s battery, like the Mophie Powerstation XL or Space Pack. But then, you show them Minx: Sarah Stage’s Instagram stream and suddenly, yeah, a dead phone every three hours totally makes total sense. This American beauty hails from Southern California (shocker), and is currently a model, a profession she’s had since she went to an open call at Wilhelmina modeling agency and was immediately signed. Since then, Sarah put her desire to be a nurse on temporary hold, and has starred in ads for Hustler Lingerie, Rockstar Energy Drink, Sketchers, a TV spot for Jack in the Box, plus the music videos for “These Are the Days” and the Outkast hit “Roses.” But we like to look at the 5’8” knockout in her favorite environment: Instagram. Oh, there she is wearing a yellow bandage dress walking through a market. Now Sarah’s at the gun range, making safety goggles and ear protectors look good! There she is in shorty shorts and sexy Louboutins. Oh sweet Lord, now she’s in the pool. She’s in the poooooool! You’re going to need another charger.
The Minx Who Replaced Gisele. Twice.
Apologies in advance to Tom Brady, but this post is about a minx so hot she replaced your wife, Gisele not once, but twice. That we know of. If you don’t know her already, you should: Miss Minx: Miranda Kerr. You probably already recognize this Australian model as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, and the ex-wife of Orlando Bloom (on second thought, maybe we should be apologizing to him…). After growing up racing motorbikes and riding horses on her grandmother’s farm, Miranda and her family moved to Brisbane for a taste of city life and Miranda won her first model competition for “Dolly” magazine at age 13. But she kept to her studies, with an emphasis on health psychology and nutrition, and graduated from All Hallows’ School in the year 2000. Soon after, she scored a massive contract with Maybelline that first introduced her to the U.S. market. As you can imagine, that went over pretty well, and in 2007, she replaced Gislee Bundchen as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, becoming the first Angel to represent Australia. She rocked the runway for the televised VS fashion shows for four years straight, starting in 2006.
By 2009, Miranda made the “Forbes” list of world’s highest-paid models, with estimated earnings of $3 million. That was also the year Miranda joined forces with George Moskos and started her own line of organic skincare products called KORA Organics. Way to keep that cash flowing, Miranda. A year later, Kerr would also author a book called “Treasure Yourself,” a self-help book written for female teenagers to help boost their self-esteem. Over the next few years, Miranda would take on more high fashion brands, like Prada, Balenciaga, Chanel, and Christian Dior, and become the first cover model to appear pregnant on the cover of Australian “Vogue,” being six months along at the time. By 2013, Miranda had moved herself up on the “Forbes” list quite considerably, earning the ranking of #2 highest paid models, with an impressive estimated earnings of $7.2 million. And then, it happened again. In February of 2014, Miranda unseated Gisele once again, replacing her as the face of H&M. If this trend keeps up, maybe this could work well for Tom Brady in the end after all.
The Sun-Kissed Minx
When 24-year old model/minx extraordinaire Hannah Davis posed for the 2013 Swimsuit Edition of “Sports Illustrated” she was undoubtedly in her element. And we’re not just saying that because she looks like she was born to wear a bikini. Hannah actually did grow up bikini-clad in the surf and sand, in St. Thomas, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. As a child and a teenager, Davis was a star athlete, playing on the Virgin Islands National Volleyball Team, and taking home a championship on the Caribbean National tennis team. In 2006, she traded in her racquet for a spot on the runway, appearing in campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Blue Label and later modeling for Victoria’s Secret, American Eagle, Levi’s and Tommy Hilfiger. The 5’10” green-eyed stunner has also rocked the covers of Mexican “Elle” magazine, and “FHM” in both France and South Africa. Apparently, her international appeal extends to the Bronx as well, as Davis has enjoyed status as the on-again, off-again girlfriend of Yankee legend Derek Jeter. Davis also just appeared in the GQ.com piece on white t-shirts—which we’re sure you’d have a hard time focusing on, considering the fact that in most of the shots, she neglected to put on any pants. Damn you, Captain.
The Multifaceted Minx
Model. Socialite. Entrepreneur. F1 expert. Philanthropist. TV Star. Minx. Not necessarily in that order. Say hello to Minx: Tamara Ecclestone and try not to be too intimidated by her resume. The daughter of F1 racing legend Bernie Ecclestone and former Armani model Slavica, Tamara was pretty much born to be impressive—and we’re not just talking pristine bone structure here. Milan-born and London-bred, Tamara seems to excel at every venture she takes a shot at.
She began by modeling for Armani and working at F1 magazine, and has since appeared as a TV personality on Sky 1, the BBC’s entertainment channel, has covered F1 racing on Sky Italia, hosted the Red Bull Air Race World Championships, and starred in “Billion $$ Girl,” which followed the ins and outs of Tamara’s life as a wealthy, world-class socialite. Not one to rest on her laurels, Tamara is also the successful founder of SHOW Beauty, a prestigious, luxury hair care line with international reach. But does Tamara like to give back? Yes. In fact, she started a philanthropical venture called Tamara Gives Back, a charity program that raises money for seriously ill children at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, by auctioning off Tamara’s personal luxury items on eBay. Infatuated yet? Yeah. We know. Get in line.
The Greatest Minx You’ll Ever Meet
“Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” —William Shakespeare
Let’s see…in order, that would be you, Mark Zuckerberg, and this week’s minx, Barbara Palvin. Born in Budapest, the Hungarian model and actress was first discovered in 2006 walking the streets with her mother. As a model, she’s posed for Armani Exchange and was seen strutting her stuff during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She even became the youngest L’oreal Paris spokesperson in history. Although her crystal blue eyes and pouty face have helped her land the number 23 spot on “The Money Girls” list by models.com, it’s her love for anime and soccer that keep her grounded. At the ripe age of twenty, Barbara’s modeling and acting career have made her a worldwide phenomenon, but it’s her love life that has been creating a stir, with rumors linking her romantically to Justin Bieber and Niall Horan of One Direction running rampant. But the 5’8” model never lets some romance rumors get her down. She’s too excited about her upcoming role in “Hercules: The Thracian Wars” alongside Irina Shayk. Two minxes for the price of one? Now that is truly what we call great.
The Polish Reality Star Minx
If, for some strange reason, you’ve never been a fan of Polish reality television, we’ve got something that may help you change your mind—Minx: Natalia Siwiec. The model-turned-reality-star has her very own show now, called “Enjoy The View <3 Natalia” which follows the every day antics of her and her husband (boo!). A former “Playboy” cover girl, Natalia has revealed in interviews that she is a big fan of the Polish football team, loves “Pulp Fiction,” “Fight Club” and “A Clockwork Orange,” thinks the internet is the best invention ever, and prefers vampires to zombies. Oh, and Natalia also revealed where the name for her show originated. She’s got a tattoo “down there” that says, “Enjoy the view.” Other tattoos include an eagle on her butt, a gun on her back and other hidden gems you’ll have to watch the show to discover on your own. And don’t worry if you don’t speak Polish—it shouldn’t really affect your enjoyment of the show. In fact, it’s best to watch with the volume completely off anyway.
The Mysterious Minx
What happened to Tony Soprano? Who did let the dogs out? Life certainly has its fair share of mysteries. But can we all just agree that when it comes to women, a little mystery goes a long way. That certainly rings true when it comes to our latest minx, Oksana Rika. Rika is a top contender in the running for our favorite brown-eyed girl and above all else, takes the cake for the most mysterious minx. Little is known of this voluptuous babe other than that she hails from Montreal, is of Ukrainian descent, and currently resides in Miami, where she’s represented by the Ford Modeling Agency. Although her personal life may be like a question mark wrapped in a riddle, her campaign for Wonder Bra left very little to the imagination (seriously, check it out if you don’t believe us). Oksana’s been modeling for over twelve years and is naturally transitioning into photography. One thing for sure is that whether she’s in front of the camera or behind it, Oksana is a work of art. Normally, we like to get down to the nitty gritty of solving mysteries, but we’ll put figuring out just what other hidden talents Oksana has on the backburner for now. Instead, let’s just enjoy the view.
The Minx On Both Sides Of The Camera
When Amber Arbucci is in front of the camera, it truly is a delight to behold. Hence her long modeling resume that includes the likes of True Religion, Victoria’s Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch, Nicole Miller, Valentino, Tommy Hilfiger and more. But the thing that truly sets Amber apart from the rest of the runway has nothing to do with her pouty lips, smoldering eyes or long, beach-perfect legs. It’s her photographic eye, coupled with a fearless sense of adventure. When she’s not striking a pose, Amber is busy capturing shots of giraffes, humpback whales and great white sharks as a wildlife photographer. From deep oceans to vast deserts and dense jungles, Amber has explored it all, and captured it all with her trusty lens (we highly recommend checking out her wildlife photography—“The Girl at Jellyfish Lake” series is particularly captivating). If that wasn’t enough to impress you, Amber is also involved in charities to help save endangered animals, and she’s learned how to fly helicopters and ride motorcycles. So if you want to impress Amber, you’d better charge up your Sony Cyber-Shot Compact Superzoom, shine up your Bolt Motorcycle, and just try to keep up.
