What’s New, Trailcat?
The Easter Jeep Safari is coming…well, around Easter 2017, but that doesn’t mean Jeep has been sitting around doing nothing. In fact, there’s a ton of excitement around next April’s event in Moab, Utah, since it’s not only the 50th anniversary of the Safari, it’s the 75th anniversary of Jeep. That’s why the company has been cooking up some choice concept releases, namely the Jeep Wrangler Trailcat Concept (not for sale).
Built from Jeep and Mopar performance parts, this off-roader stands out for its gutsy yet polished design and outstanding performance. The Trailcat gets its 707 hp from a 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat V8 engine and 6-speed manual transmission. Engineers also made sure the Trailcat to be as nimble as a cougar on the trails and as fast as a cheetah on the long, flat sections of the course, so they lengthened the wheelbase by a foot, chopped down the windshield, and jacked it up on 39.5-inch BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX tires. Try and catch that, Easter bunny.
