No.8 Is #1.
As the extensive repairs on your Two-Level Luxema 8000 Hot Tub prove, celebrities really know how to party (and Anne Hathaway definitely owes you a new fog machine). So when celebrities like Jay-Z, Bono, Sting, Scarlett Johansson, George Clooney, Jeremy Renner and your buddy Anne all show up at New York hotspot No.8, you know it must be something special. A creation of Amy Sacco (aka the Queen of New York Nightlife), LDV Hospitality and entrepreneur (and Headlines & Heroes co-founder—hey oh!) Bobby Rossi, No.8 was inspired by Sacco’s former iconic club Bungalow 8.
The flagship venue in New York’s thriving Chelsea neighborhood (it’s meatpacking adjacent) features The Ballroom as well as the Rec Room (with a sister venue in Miami’s Gale Hotel). The Ballroom resides on the main floor of No.8, with a gorgeous U-shaped bar and revolving chandelier as its focal point, surrounded by 5 large banquets, a communal lounge area and a private elevated tasting booth when you’re looking for a little discretion. The décor is described as “Miss Habersham’s rundown mansion meets disco glam with a little splash of Cuba.” Hot? You bet. Nibbles and cocktails can also be enjoyed here, and we recommend the “Hit Me Like A Hammer” both because it’s delicious and because it’s just fun to say. Pop up to the second floor to check out the Rec Room, a private vinyl lounge, pimped out with a Funktion One sound system, a resident DJ and over 8,000 hand-selected albums to provide the soundtrack.
While you never know who might pop in at No.8 (did we mention that Brad Pitt held his premiere here?), we can tell you where No.8 will pop up, like the Cannes Film Festival, the Venice Art Biennale, Summer in the Hamptons, London Fashion Week, the Rome Film Festival and Art Basel in Miami, just to name a few on tap for 2013. Pop in like it’s hot, because it is.
