If You Go To ONE Festival In Your Lifetime…
The Stones. Dylan. Paul McCartney. Neil Young. Roger Waters. The Who. No, it’s not a list of the inductees to the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, it’s a list of the bands playing the Desert Trip Festival on October 7-9th and you need to snatch up some tickets when they go on sale next week—Monday, May 9th at 10am PST, to be exact.
The all-star lineup was assembled by Goldenvoice, the same promoters behind Coachella, and yes, the Desert Trip will be in the same location as Coachella—the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.
But don’t expect a huge range of various sized stages, or even any opening acts. Since each band is a behemoth in their own right, there will be one stage and one stage only, built around an arc of seating like a “mini-stadium.”
Weekend passes are going for $399 for the entire weekend—not too shabby when you consider the legends who will be performing, or $199 for single day tickets. You can also throw on some fancy add-ons, like Outstanding in the Field for drinks and a gourmet experience cooked by celebrity chefs for $225.
If you really want to floss, spring for the 3-Day Reserved Grandstand Seats, which gets you reserved seating for all three nights, access to the Platinum Lounge, which includes shaded picnic areas, extra restrooms and other perks, plus primo parking for $1599 plus fees. Sounds steep, but if you’re a fan of classic rock, it’s a small price to pay for seeing your childhood legends in the flesh. Rock on.
