Yamaha On The Go Go

Whether you’re tailgating, shooting hoops, or playing polo, the Yamaha PDX-11 Portable Speaker ($100) can hang. The rugged octagonal iPod dock features a 4-inch woofer and a separate tweeter that pulls power from an AC adapter or six AA-batteries for eight hours of playback. You can mount your iPhone or iPod up top or hook up a PC, Mac or other audio player via a mini-jack in the back. The speaker’s metal carry handle and grill make it easy to take your tunes outdoors – and at only 3 pounds, can you really justify leaving Queen’s Greatest Hits at home?

Look Ma, No Wires!

You’re a popular guy, and you like to get around.  One might even say, you’re just a gigolo (thanks, Mr. Lee Roth).  The thought of sitting home and waiting by the phone for something–anything–is nothing short of ridiculous.  Now, you can take the phone with you, so you never miss an important call ever again (when Tawny needs you, she needs you NOW).  Ameritech Mobile Communications has just unveiled the first commercial wireless phone–the Motorola DynaTac 8000X.  The first call was made from Soldier Field from the inside of a Chrysler convertible to Germany, with Alexander Graham Bell’s grandson on the other end.  At 10 inches long, and weighing in a mere 1.75 pounds, the DynaTac will set you back about $4,000.  A small price to pay to keep Tawny a happy bunny.

You, Coming To A Theatre Near You

Your life is pretty awesome. And seeing things from your POV is something that you should be able to share with the world…for the world’s sake. Since Scorsese is currently consumed with other endeavors, you’re going to have to take matters into your own hands. The Looxcie 2 Wearable Camcorder ($148) has you covered. Just hook it up to your ear, or in a hat or helmet (especially handy for your Spelunking episode), and just go do what you do best. Looxcie is lightweight, coming in under 1 oz., and has up to 5 or 10 hours of video storage depending on which model you spring for. Its dual processor allows for simultaneous video capture and wireless communication, and the LooxcieMoments Smartphone Companion App allows you to choose between 320P and 480p video quality. Social Media Sharing features make it easy to upload your latest adventures to Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Assuming, of course, your agent is cool with it.

Point, Bill Gates

Though you yourself could be considered to be something of an alpha dog, you always like to see the underdog win (further proof of what a great guy you are. Sigh.) And It’s not very often that the Apple empire is out-innovated by Microsoft, but the Microsoft eVous definitely ($TBA) scores some cool points. The unique V design allows it to function as both a mouse and a digital pen, with buttons that are scroll and touch sensitive in mouse-mode. When you want to use it as a pen, all you have to do is pick it up and write or draw with the tip. It’s just a concept now, but if Bill knows what’s good for him, he’ll get it on the market before apple invents the iTip.

Delayed Photographic Gratification

As a man who’s used to getting what he wants the millisecond he asks for it (Jeeves! Fritos! Now!), we have a somewhat novel idea for you: delayed gratification. Calm down, we’re not suggesting that Jeeves drags his feet on delivering your salty, delicious corn chips–we’re merely suggesting you check out the amazingly stylish La Sardinia Camera & Flash ($109) from Lomography. It’s just like one of those old school cameras you may remember from the late ’90’s, where you put film in, then later get it developed (ringing a bell?), only it’s way cooler. Its red, black and white design is just plain cool, and the camera itself comes with a ton of great features, like a wide angle lens, a rewind dial that allows for multiple exposures, a Fritz the Blitz Flash attachment, and bulb setting for night-time and long-exposure experimentation. As Jeeves can testify all too well, Experimentation is your middle name.
